Verifiable Installation Credentials
As the protocol issues the bulk of its tokens as rebates for new installations, verifiably proving that an installation occurred is critical to prevent gaming. DayFi relies on several layers of verifiable credentials to prove a new installation exists.
Device Attestation
DayFi relies on API access to the equipment and Proof of Flexibility challenges to verify controllability of the system. Additionally, the device's serial number is matched against manufacturer records to ensure the manufactured data aligns with with deployment date.
Installation Completion
Before a solar system can begin operation, the local utility must provide a "Permission to Operate" notification, typically delivered via email. The equipment owner must submit the Permission to Operate approval to the protocol.
Performance Verification
DayFi relies on utility bill data via the Utility True-Up process to confirm the operation of the system. When a solar system is deployed, the before and after energy consumption reported by the utility bill will vary drasticallly.
